i know i said i would post some, but that just has not been first priority on vacation.  so here is some, a little late but...oh, well.

slacker!

wow, i have been a slacker!  listen to my excuse though...it's a good one.....  i have been busy, crazy busy!  AND i have been on vacation!  that is kind of an oxymoron, huh?

either way, it is the truth.  slammed busy, which i am so thankful to God for.  there is no other explanation other than God's favor is with our company.  and i decided a while back that when i went on vacation, 9 guys in Breckenridge, CO, i decided...no computer!, no mobile blogging!, no technology at all.  just hanging out and learning to ski. i'm 34 and have never snow skied.  

 

i picked it up pretty quick.  thanks to david potter for sticking with me and teaching me!  here are a few pics, they do not do justice to how amazing God's creation is!  if you could look at these mountains and have the image of the sun setting into the ocean.  you have to just stand in awe at how creative our God is.   unbelievable!!  even more unbelievable is the fact that he calls each one of us to a purpose.  he has a plan for each of us and he considers us...  in fact, he asks us to be partakers of the promise.  

i love holding onto memories... they inspire me when i am not feeling too inspired.

i have told several of you the story behind the picture as the header of my blog.  for the others that i havent...here it is.

we went on a family vacation 2 years ago to california.  we visited my sister and her family up around sacramento.  while we were with them we traveled to san francisco for a weekend.  we got to visit alcatraz, ride the cable cars, tour the city, go across the golden gate bridge...as i think about it, we accomplished a ton in a short amount of time!  anyway, the picture came from one of the piers at san francisco, i cant remember which one.  we were walking around by pier 39 and we just decided to walk up a ways and there was this thing(the pic).  i am not even sure what it is called.  there are signs in the pic...but of course, i didnt read those!   the sun was setting and that ship was out in the bay and everything just kind of fell into place for what turned out to be a great picture.  (i took about 20 to get that one...gotta love digital!)

if you are ever out that way, check out the pier.  there is a ton to see there, including the sea lions.  that could have been one of our best vacations.

learning to belax...

my little boy says things wrong sometimes. one thing he says wrong, and we don't correct him b/c it is too cute, is belax! he means relax, but he says belax. every night at bath time, he says ... daddy, when I get done can I belax?

I am learning again this week why his way of saying it ia probably more right. I have to carve some time out to just BE-LAX. There is a spiritual message in there, I am just too lax to unpack it.
